"Fall is Fun and Fabulous" at Otter Lake Cabins

As part of the Okanagan, the Tulameen area can be a hot dry climate in the summer, giving way to spectacular colours in the early fall. Warm days give way to chilly nights as winter approaches. Keep the autumn chill in the air away by cozying up to a warm fire by the fire pit or the fireplace or stove in your cabin. Many of the activities our guests take induring the fall season are:

  • ATV-ing (rentals & guides available at Tulameen Adventure Tours)
  • Canoeing- on the many lakes in the area. The Tulameen and Similkameen Rivers also offer more than 75 km of excellent canoeing and kayaking.
  • Explore local historic ruins and ghost towns such as Granite City and Blakeburn which contain fascinating collections of gold-rush-era houses and shops. Mascot Gold Mine is located 1,000 m (3,281 ft) above the town of Hedley.
  • Fossil hunting - Princeton and District Museum offers a world-class fossil collection for viewing.
  • Gold Panning
  • Golfing (close by at the Princeton Golf Course ) a gorgeous 18-hole, par 72, public golf course located about three minutes east of Princeton. The course presents a challenge for almost every level. Facilities include a driving range, putting and chipping green, and RV hook-up service outside the club house for travelling guests.
  • Hiking (TransCanada Trail / Trails B.C.) multi-use trail in the area is the Kettle Valley Trail, which winds through tunnels and over trestles at a very manageable grade. Visitors can also try the two longer multi-use trails, the Trans Canada Trail and the Spirit of 2010 Trail.
  • Horseback riding
  • Fishing - More than forty good trout fishing lakes in the Tulameen area, as well as the Similkameen and Tulameen rivers.
  • Wildlife - deer are plentiful in the area and frequently wander into town. Elk, Black Bear, Coyote and Cougar can be spotted in the surrounding countryside, as well as more than 240 species of birds.
